Zubereitet wird er ab einer Geschwindigkeit von 130 km/h. Sofern man sich dazu entschließt, auch Gallenblase und Dickdarm zu verspeisen, sollte man unbedingt schneller fahren als der [[Igel]] laufen kann. Bei größerem Verkehrsaufkommen braucht man auch nicht mehr das störende Stachelkleid mühsam von Huf abpulen - es löst sich dann ganz allein vom Corpus, so ähnlich wie wenn man eine [[Nuss]] knackt. <br /> <br /> Mettigel - oder auch Igelmett schätzen Kenner wegen seiner zarten, unnachahmlichen Konsistenz. Bloßes Rinderhack reicht nicht annähernd an den Geschmack von Igelmett heran. Überdies ist die Beschaffung des Mettigels auch weit kostengünstiger als der Gang zum Fleischer; man benötigt lediglich ein Auto oder ein paar Inline-Skates und schon kann es losgehen. <br /> <br /> Sobald man das Igelmett von der Straße/Autobahn/Radweg aufgesammelt hat, wird es mit Salz und Pfeffer bestreut und kräftig durchgeknetet.
